Naples Day Surgery History & Mission
Our History
In 1986, Naples Community Hospital opened Naples Day Surgery in downtown Naples as one of the first freestanding surgery centers in the United States. This innovative concept in providing high quality outpatient surgery as an attractive and cost effective alternative to inpatient care was quickly embraced by physicians and the community alike. In 1992 a second location, Naples Day Surgery North was opened to meet the needs of the rapidly growing suburbs in north Collier County and the border communities of southern Lee County. As the multi-specialty surgery centers continued to grow and evolve and minimally invasive outpatient surgery, technology and procedures advanced, Naples Day Surgery, LLC (NDS) was formed in 2001 as a physician-hospital joint venture with NCH Healthcare System to own and operate the two locations.
